Summer is around the corner, which means many of you are making vacation plans. Or maybe you’re better organized and have already done all this. Regardless, you’ll want to make sure you’re signed up for the latest hotel promotions to get the most out of your paid stay. Don’t know where to start? Here’s a roundup of current hotel bonus point promotions:
Hilton Honors
Through April 30 Hilton Honors is running its Points Unlimited promotion. You will earn 2,000 bonus points on every say, plus an extra 10,000 points on every 5 stay. As the title gives away, there is no limit to the number of times these bonuses can be earned. Best of all, this promotion applies to both paid and award night bookings.
IHG Rewards Club
IHG’s Accelerate promotions are always lucrative. What I like is that 1.) the details of this promotion vary depending on the member and 2.) you can earn points on a variety of activities and factors. For example, my Accelerate promo looks like this:
- Stay once, get 1,000 bonus points
- Stay 5 nights, get 5,000 bonus points
- Stay at 2 Holiday Inn Express hotels, earn 8,400 bonus points
- Stay in 1 of 6 major hotel markets (New York, Chicago, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Orlando or San Francisco), earn 3,600 bonus points
- Complete 3 of the 4 offers and earn (an additional) 22,000 bonus points.
Sometimes bonus points are awarded for mobile app downloads or credit card applications. Additionally, Kimpton hotel stays will earn you an additional 10,000 points.
Marriott Rewards
Marriott Rewards’ promotion is unimpressive, to say the least. Starting on your third night, you’ll earn 750 bonus points per night. Up to 36,000 points. Come on, Marriott, you can do better than that…
If you’re into this Marriott promotion, then be sure to register by June 30. The promotion continues through July 20, 2018.
Starwood Preferred Guest
The More Nights More Starpoints promotion is pretty much the same as the Marriott Rewards promotion (#mergeratwork). They’re selling this as a “250 points per night” promo, but like Marriott, you won’t start earning them until the third night. This promotion runs through July 20, 2018 and you must be registered by June 30. You may be thinking, “isn’t the Marriott promo better since you earn more points?” Keep in mind that SPG points transfer to Marriott at a 1:3 ratio, while Marriott transfers to SPG at a 3:1 ratio. It works out all the same.
World of Hyatt
Hyatt is offering 500 – 1,000 bonus points per night for stays through May 15. You can earn up to 25,000 bonus points. You might have registered by March 31 to qualify. Missed the cut-off? Don’t worry, I’m sure Hyatt will announce another similar bonus point promotion soon after.

Be sure to maximize your points further by using a hotel rewards card to pay for your stay and take advantage of mobile booking bonuses when possible. Don’t have a hotel reward card?
