For some reason, my travel is really heavy on Airbnbs for the rest of the year. This is probably because we have a lot of family trips coming up and I prefer to have separate more space when traveling with family. Still, this makes me kinda sad. I absolutely love hotels, and especially ones where I can stay for free with rewards.
The thing is, we don’t pay for all of our travel with rewards. Sometimes we pay in cash and other times we pay in flexible travel credit.
Rewards or not, I love to travel either way. Here are the upcoming hotel stays I have planned for the rest of the year, and why I’m excited:
The Somerset at Grace Bay
My next hotel trip is going to be in a Caribbean destination I have never visited — Turks and Caicos. This is a trip with friends (no kids) so we got a two-bedroom condo at The Somerset at Grace Bay. I cannot wait to stay at this hotel because the pictures look spectacular. Not only is the hotel supposed to be luxurious with giant rooms and a huge pool, but it’s on an award-winning beach that’s supposed to be on of the most beautiful in the world. I’ll be the judge of that and let you know.
Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock
During my kid’s fall break, we are taking a road trip to Phoenix, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon. I’m excited to stay at the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock since it’s supposed to be very nice and we may get an upgrade due to our Hilton Diamond status. I paid for one night with a free night certificate from my Hilton Aspire Card and will pay the cash rate for two other nights here.
Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas
We’re going to stay two nights at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas as part of the same trip. I redeemed a free night from my husband’s Hilton Aspire Card for one of our stays and will pay for the other night with cash. We are meeting up with some blogger friends here, so this should be fun.
Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando
In September, I am going to the financial blogger’s conference known as FinCon. I am pretty excited for this trip since I will get to see all my friends and also stay in a new hotel, Rosen Shingle Creek. We are paying cash for this stay since it’s a business expense, but I am pumped for a new hotel to try and think the rooms and amenities look superb.
Palace Hotel, Zagreb
This November, my husband and I planned a couples trip to Croatia. We are spending two nights in Zagreb before our five nights in Dubrovnik. For our two nights in Zagreb, I booked a stay at the Palace Hotel. While this hotel isn’t involved with a major loyalty program, I was able to book our two nights here for 15,449 Chase Ultimate Rewards points total through the Chase travel portal.
Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik
Last but not least, we are staying five nights at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik. I couldn’t bring myself to pay with points for our five nights because the total for the stay was 572 euros or $674. I decided to save my points for another redemption. Still, I am stoked to stay here because the hotel has great reviews and it’s the perfect base for our day trips to Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Which upcoming hotel stays are you excited about this year? Do you always pay in points or do you pay in cash sometimes?
