One of the easiest and fastest ways to score some bonus points is by referring your friends and family to credit cards you love. Your friend earns the sign-up bonus; you earn the referral bonus—everybody wins. However, not all cards offer bonus points for referrals, such as The Hyatt Card from Chase…until now!
Many card members received targeted emails saying that referrals for The Hyatt Card are now live. Hyatt cardholders can refer others and earn 10,000 World of Hyatt points for each referral (up to 50,000 points per calendar year). Each approved friend will receive 40,000 World of Hyatt points after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening.
If you hold The Hyatt Card, you can generate referrals here. You don’t have to have received the email to be able to generate referrals, as they seem to be widely available to all cardholders in good standing.
As a reminder, The Hyatt Card recently changed its welcome offer terms from two free nights to 40,000 World of Hyatt points earlier this year. Now that referrals are available, I can’t help but wonder if the card would fall under Chase’s 5/24 rule in the future. The rule means that the bank will not issue another card to customers who have opened five or more credit cards with any bank in the last 24 months. So far, consumers with good credit who are over 5/24 have had no problem being approved for the Hyatt rewards card.
Remember that Hyatt’s loyalty program allows free point transfers between all members, not just family members. A single member can transfer or receive points once every 30 days, and the points can be moved in any amount. If you and a family member travel together and use a tag-team approach to score credit card bonuses, there hasn’t been a better time to earn some extra points with The Hyatt Card.
As for me, I have held The Hyatt Card since this summer. I applied after the bonus switched to points and have referred one person to the card since then but received no bonus. I wish the option became available sooner, but I’m happy that it’s here now.
How do you feel about the opportunity to score even more points on The Hyatt Card by referring friends?
