Where Did British Airways Award Chart Go?

The British Airways Mileage Club award chart seems to have disappeared from ba.com.

The carrier’s website has undergone an upgrade recently, and the award chart is nowhere to be found, as reported by Head for Points.

As you know, Delta Air Lines SkyMiles program has stopped publishing award charts on its website some time ago, and there’s no way to tell how many miles an award should cost. The airline also switched to dynamic pricing, which increases the cost of an award according to demand.

It is unclear why exactly British Airways has removed the award chart from its website, but it makes the airline seem less transparent. Instead, you can use BA’s reward flight calculator that allows you to calculate the number of miles needed for a one-way award on BA and its partners.

British Airways uses a distance-based chart. In other words, the number of miles an award light requires depends on the distance between the two cities. Should you need a cheat sheet for redeeming your Avios in the future, please refer to this chart.

  • Zone 1 – up to 650 miles
  • Zone 2 – 651 to 1,150 miles
  • Zone 3 – 1,151 to 2,000 miles
  • Zone 4 – 2,001 to 3,000 miles
  • Zone 5 – 3,001 to 4,000 miles
  • Zone 6 – 4,001 to 5,500 miles
  • Zone 7 – 5,501 to 6,500 miles
  • Zone 8 – 6,501 to 7,000 miles
  • Zone 9 – 7,001 miles and up

Many travelers would consider BA’s removing an award chart concerning at least. What’s the reason behind it? Is the chart undergoing revisions? Will the chart be back? There are many questions. When it comes to loyalty, transparency is a big deal, and hiding redemption rates are as far as transparent as one can be.

Have you checked out BA’s revamped website? Were you able to find an award chart?
